Armando de la Rocha Medium: Clay pots, sculptures & wall pieces Artist Statement: My name is Armando de la Rocha, born in 1971, started making pots 1994. I finally became a full-time artist in 1998 and it is my 5th year at the beach show.

I create three-dimensional, narrative pieces, focused primarily on my mexican background. My works include "day of the dead" & zapatistas pots as well as folk & religious pieces (animals, virgin pots, etc.). Production pottery is not my thing, I dedicate lots of time on each one of my pieces by carving, sketching and waxing before they go into the final glaze firing.
